'Run Sweetheart Run'

I've finally gotten around to watching a few things that are not chikd-friendly, such as beautifully shot 'Run Sweetheart Run' on Amazon Prime. Sadly, it lacks story closure, but it is engaging and is a well-needed reinterpretation of the Creation Myth we're so often fed. There are some great one liners as well

'A demon is just a corrupted angel.'

'You didn't really think that Eve came from Adam's rib? Try the other way around.'

'Your blood is not your weakness, it is your strength.'

There is a sense of humour in it that brought to mind 'Fresh.'

Ella Balinksa takes my breath away. As horror go, its a huge relief to have a film that flips the tropes and makes space for female survival.

I also had the opportunity to watch 'The Protégé' and 'Anna,' the latter of which is directed by Luc Besson and really, I enjoyed both of these immensely and they made me think of Florence King's _When Sisterhood Was in Flower_, which is still one of my favourite reads.  It also made me wonder why -  in the era of reboots - we haven't had a reboot of 'Beverly Hills Cop?' Surely Rhianna as Axel Foley, Wanda Sykes as the Chief of Police in Beverly Hills with a very repressed Straight Man as Captain with , and Tina Fey as Taggart, with Amy Poehler as Rosewood...maybe Kevin Hart as  he Captain in Detroit, with Krysten Ritter as the Detroit cop sidekick?

It also makes me wonder if the role of female assassin isn't the new nun.  Also, is it wrong that I kind of want to run a series of well-founded safe houses? A new spin on the conventional AirBnB?

I know....I really need to decompress. It's okay. I'm heading back to my point of origin soon.
